Kyle Bassett
Striker who came through the ranks at Cardiff City becoming a reserve team regular before joining Newport County on loan at the end of last season before being released by Cardiff City at the end of last season.
Josh Brigham
Josh came through the youth ranks at Bath City before going on to Chippenham Town and then Melksham Town before joining Clevedon in July 2007.
Leighton Burrows
Defender who joined us from Newport YMCA in the summer, after spells with Newport County Youth, Hartridge Academy and Caldicot Town.
Adam Callan
Signed in July 2008, Adam has played for Bristol Rovers Youth, Filton College and Troedyrhiw.
Chris Collins
Chris was a youth team player at Swindon Town before leaving to join Newport County in December 2002, and then going on to Merthyr Tydfil and Cirencester Town from where he joined Clevedon in May 2008.
Kevin Davies
Signed from Weston-super-Mare after an earlier spell at The Hand Stadium last season, Kevin has also been on the books of Swindon Town and Swansea City and also played for Cirencester Town.
Matt Driscoll
Joined the club in July 2008 from Aberaman FC after previously appearing for Afan Lido, Bridgend Town, Aberystwyth, Merthyr Tydfil and Cwmbran Town.
Danny Greaves
Another player to return to the club in 2006/07 after an earlier spell at the club, Danny having made 7 appearances in 2003/04 season. He re-joined in August 2006 from Mangotsfield United, his first club, from where he went on to join Bristol Rovers and then a spell at Forest Green Rovers, before returning to Mangotsfield in November 2004.
Jake Harris
Promising young striker who has come through the youth team, having initially started with the Winscombe youth set-up.
Simon Heal
Simon started his career at Cardiff City before moving on to Haverfordwest, Merthyr, Cwmbran, Weston-super-Mare, Yate Town and Swindon Supermarine, from whom he signed for us in May 2008.
Tom Hooper
Another Summer 2008 signing, Tom has been on the books of Port Talbot Town, Cardiff City, Newport County and Llanwern AFC.
Lee Jenkins
Lee joined Swansea City as a youth player from Pengam Boys Club, before going on to play for Kidderminster Harriers, Redditch United and then Newport County in October 2005, making over 200 Football League appearances and winning Welsh schoolboy, youth and U-21 caps in the process. Injury problems saw him miss last season but having fully recovered Lee is making his comeback with the Seasiders in 2008/09.
Craig Loxton
Midfielder Craig started his career at Bristol City where he came up through the ranks to become a professional for 4 years. He went on to have a brief spell at Forest Green Rovers before joining Clevedon in the promotion winning season of 2005/06. He left at the end of that season to join Weston-super-Mare where he was made club captain in 2007; currently in his second spell at Clevedon after signing permanently this summer.
Daniel O’Brien
Daniel is a young goalkeeper from Backwell United Who started his career at Bristol Rovers Academy before moving onto Brislington, Gloucester County and Backwell United.
Chris Pearce
Joined this summer from Caerleon in the Welsh League, Chris started at the Cwmbran Town Academy.
Lewis Powell
Originally on the books of Bristol Rovers, and a promising striker, Lewis joined the club in June 2008 from Conference South side, Weston-super-Mare after an earlier loan spell at Mangotsfield United in 2006/07.
Hanin Romdhane
Rhys Williams
A young Welsh utility player who was a scholar at the Swansea City Centre of Excellence from 2003 to 2006 before being released. He joined Cwmbran Town in August 2006 and joined Clevedon Town this summer from Bryntirion Athletic in the Welsh League.
Management
Wayne Powell (Manager)
Wayne, who was born in Caerphilly, started his playing career at Bristol Rovers as an apprentice in July 1972, turning professional two years later. He made his Football League debut in October 1975 and can claim to have scored a hat trick against Sheffield United. He made Football League appearances for Halifax Town and Hereford United, as well as Rovers, before moving on to the non-league game and playing for Minehead, Bath City, Merthyr Tydfil, Mangotsfield United, Paulton Rovers, Hanham Athletic and Abergavenny Thursdays. A Welsh Youth player, Wayne later went into coaching, gaining his UEFA “A” coaching license before going on to become youth team manager at Swansea city, before becoming assistant manager at Bristol Rovers U-18’s and assistant to Tony Ricketts at Filton Academy. He joined Clevedon Town as Phil Bater’s assistant manager in August 2007 and was appointed manager on 30 April 2008 after Phil Bater’s resignation.
Alan Bull (Assistant Manger)
Alan was appointed as Wayne Powell’s assistant in August 2008, after joining the club as goalkeeping coach the previous season under Phil Bater. Well known on the local football scene for his work with local goalkeepers, Alan was previously working at Mangotsfield United.
Sylvia Durham (Physiotherapist)
Sylvia qualified as a sports therapist in 2000 and achieved a Sports Therapy Diploma, Management of Activities Injuries Diploma and Sports Massage Certificate. She now runs a full time sports injuries practice in Ross on Wye and is hoping to expand her clinic to operate part time from The Hand Stadium, having just also passed the BSY Diploma in Sports Electrotherapy. Sylvia started her football career at Harrow Hill before moving on to Ross Town and then spent five years with Llanwern in the Welsh League before joining Clevedon Town in summer 2008.
