Wayne Powell is the new Clevedon Town Manager

The Directors of Clevedon Town Football Club are pleased to announce that the position of Manager has been offered to and accepted by Wayne Powell who will take charge with immediate effect. We all wish Wayne every success in this new role and look forward to next season with interest.
Wayne, who was born in Caerphilly, started his playing career at Bristol Rovers as an apprentice in July 1972, turning professional two years later. He made his Football League debut in October 1975 and can claim to have scored a hat trick against Sheffield United. He made Football League appearances for Halifax Town and Hereford United, as well as Rovers, before moving on to the non-league game and playing for Minehead, Bath City, Merthyr Tydfil, Mangotsfield United, Paulton Rovers and Hanham Athletic. A Welsh Youth player, Wayne later went into coaching, gaining his UEFA A
coaching license before going on to become youth team manager at Swansea City, before becoming assistant manager at Bristol Rovers U-18’s and assistant to Tony Ricketts at Filton Academy. He joined Clevedon Town as Phil Bater’s assistant manager in August 2007.
