Forget the Champions League and the Somerset Premier Cup, come and enjoy the Errea Cup Final at The Hand

This Tuesday night Clevedon Town are proud to stage the second leg of the Errea Cup Final with Hillingdon Borough from Division One South & West, KO 7-45. As regulars will know the first leg ended 1-1, with Mitchell Page’s opener for Clevedon being cancelled out by Max Howell in a tie that could have gone either way in the end. Hillingdon set themselves up for the second leg with a 2-0 win over Winchester City on Saturday but their away league record of 4 wins, 6 draws and 10 defeats suggests they may not be good travellers, although their last away win was at Paulton so maybe the West Country air does them good ! However in the Errea Cup, they have beaten Bashley, Banbury and Kings Lynn away on their way to the final, and drawn at Gloucester in the F A Trophy. As we saw at Hillingdon our guests are more than capable of playing good football and we will need to be at our best against a side which, in fairness, seem to have saved their best football for cup matches this season. We know that the Champions League is live on TV, and that Weston are staging the Somerset Premier Cup Final on the same evening but please support your local team as we seek our first silverware for a few years. Clevedon are your club and we want you to be there to see them hopefully lift a cup at The Hand for the first time since we moved grounds. It should be a great occasion so let’s see all the Seasiders out in force to give the side your vocal support.
