It’s off to rugby for the football this weekend...
This Saturday Clevedon travel to Rugby Town for a British Gas Business League match, hoping to maintain their excellent run at Butlin Road, where they are unbeaten in five league visits since joining the Southern League. Rugby are currently in 15th place in the league, with a home record of 5 wins, 5 draws and 8 victories but have lost 5 of their last six home matches so we have a good chance to add to last Monday’s win over Mangotsfield. We beat Rugby 3-2 on the opening day of the season at The Hand, with goals by Mike Symons, Scott Hendy and Daine O’Connor, but its been an up and down home campaign for our hosts with a win over Kings Lynn but a surprise defeat to already relegated Cheshunt as well. If you wish to travel to Rugby on the team coach, it will leave Clevedon at 10.30 and Bristol at 11.00, and road directions can be found on our travel guide or Rugby’s own excellent website. We’ll bring you any team news nearer the date on the forum.
