We’re off to Top Field, Hitchin on Saturday...

...for a British Gas Business League match with Hitchin Town, currently languishing in 20th place in the table with a home record of 6 wins, 2 draws and 7 defeats, and are in need of a few victories to help secure their Premier Division status. Hitchin are a former Isthmian (Ryman) League side and we met for the first time last season when we knocked them out of the FA Cup after two drawn matches and a penalty shoot out. In the league last season, the sides drew 2-2 at The Hand before we lost to a single goal at Hitchin. This season we drew 1-1 in September with Steve Cook netting our goal, so we have yet to beat Hitchin in normal play but don’t be deceived by their lowly position, they have beaten Team Bath and Yate Town in their last two home games and with our club record number of draws this term, another draw must be worth a bet! Further information on our opponents can be found on their website and if you wish to travel by coach, it leaves The Hand at 10.00 and the Hilton in Bristol a half hour later.
