Clevedon travel to in form Didcot Town for the Errea Cup semis...
This Tuesday Clevedon create club history as they participate in the semi-finals stage of the Southern League Cup, now known as the Errea Cup, for the first time in their 14 years Southern League history.
They travel to South & West Division league leaders, Didcot Town, with the other semi-final, between Kings Lynn and Hillingdon Borough taking place on the same night. This will be our first ever match with The Railwaymen
who are in really good form at present and lead the table ahead of Farnborough Town and Oxford City. They have won their last 6 league matches and have already knocked out Andover, Oxford City, Gosport, Cheshunt and Cirencester on their way to the semi final. The club, who won the FA Vase in 2005, moved to their present ground, Loop Meadow, at the start of the 1999/2000 season and a measure of their form this season is that they have 3 of the top 4 goalscorers in their division with a grand total of 53 league and Errea Cup goals between them! This will be a massive test for Clevedon as they strive to reach their first cup final since the Somerset Premier Cup Final of 2001/02 and if you want to read more about our hosts, why not visit their excellent website. The team coach leaves the Hand Stadium at 4.00 and Bristol at 4.30 if you wish to travel, and there are maps and directions on the Didcot website if you are thinking of driving.
