Match Report

Clevedon Town 0 Team Bath 1

Clevedon's first home match of the new season ended in disappointment when ten man Team Bath secured all three points with a single goal victory over a disappointing Clevedon side.

Team Bath, who had Jake Reid sent off after 20 minutes for a wild lunge on Clevedon skipper Leon Hapgood, secured the points in the 26th minute when Steve Abbott scored with a superb volley from a Matt Townley free kick.

After that Team Bath were seldom troubled by the home side until the last 15 minutes of play when Clevedon went close following efforts by Leon Hapgood, Matt Rawlins, Mike Trought and Billy Clark. However, despite their pressure Clevedon were unable to break down the visitors and Team Bath hung on to record their first win of the season.

There were further problems for Clevedon when defender Kris Witcombe was forced from the pitch with a severe head injury in the first half.
