Match Report

Clevedon Town 0 Halesowen Town 1

Clevedon were left heartbroken after an injury time goal saw the visitors Halesowen Town, take all three points in this Southern League match which, in fairness, they totally dominated. The visitors were physically stronger throughout the match and while their shooting was off-target on numerous occasions they ultimately deserved to take all three points.

Clevedon had a few chances but their cause was not helped when midfielder Andy Gurney was yellow carded twice in the space of a minute, and while the ten men of Clevedon battled hard to hang on to a point it was not to be. Craig Davidge making his home debut had Clevedon’s best effort just after the break but his shot was well saved by visiting keeper James Dormand. Halesowen must of had 20 attempts on goal but their wayward finishing looked to have cost them the points until Simon Forsdick slid in on the far post to deflect home Davion Hamilton’s cross deep into injury time. It was heartbreak for the home fans but Halesowen ultimately deserved their success.
